We are excited to share an important update from the Community of the Crucified One, and we need your help to complete a significant project. Our beloved Main House, a cherished place of worship, fellowship, and refuge, is undergoing much-needed restoration with a new roof. For over 40 years, we’ve worked hard to maintain the original roof, but due to wear and tear from Pittsburgh’s challenging weather conditions, it has become clear that a complete overhaul is now essential.
This project is vital for preserving the sanctuary that has blessed so many, and we are reaching out to you for support in completing this transformation.
The Project: The new roof system will replace the flat roof that has caused significant drainage issues, including pooling water and structural damage. We’re installing a pitched roof with trusses to ensure proper drainage, prevent leaks, and extend the life of the building by 50 years. The new design includes a commercial gutter system that will efficiently channel water away from the building, preventing future damage.
In addition, fire-rated walls will be built between the six units to ensure safety in case of a fire, preventing it from spreading through the roof. This new roof will not only protect the building from the elements but also add value to the property and reduce insurance costs.
The Urgent Need: Due to years of settling, our current roof is no longer able to drain properly, resulting in large pools of water, damaged plywood, and repeated interior leaks. Without this new roof, we risk further deterioration of the Main House, including potential ceiling collapses.
How You Can Help: We are launching this fundraiser to cover the costs of the materials, labor, and additional work needed for the new roof, firewall, and drainage system.
